It's the beginning of 2014 and you are 3 years old Mr Ian. I know I've only done one blog entry since you were born so I decided to make it a new years resolution (which I typically don't do) to write more regularly in your blog. By that definition I only need to do one more entry this year and that would technically qualify as "more regularly" than the past. But, that's obviously not the spirit of what resolutions are all about. So, I'm going to give myself the goal of twice a month to start with. In case you aren't aware, Dad is fairly busy guy at Samsung Mobile these days so time is limited. But, guess what, so is life! Nuf said.
We had a great Christmas, this was the first year where you really knew what was up and were very excited about Santa making a visit to the Rea household. You were so excited that you even opened up the only present I got for mom by going out of eyesight and catching me in a distracted moment. There were many of those moments during yours and Emilie's frenzied present opening romp. But it was a ton of fun, the excitement from both you and Emilie was over the top. I can't until next year, both you and Emilie are going to have a blast!
We also just made a fun road trip in a single day to Shreveport LA for the Advocare V100 Bowl! Mom's Arizona Wildcats put a beat down on the Boston College Eagles. I think the finalscore was 48 to 13 or something like that. Heather Woller came down with Ellie and Alex and we all piled into a rented minivan. The minivan had a DVD player and boy oh boy, you and Emile really loved it. We watched Doc McStuffins, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, and all other excellent Disney movies.
Speaking of Disney, we went to Disney World for the first time back in September, Gamma and Papa came with us, it was awesome. We had a full week there and we went to the Magic Kingdom for 2.5 days, Typhoon Lagoon for 1.5 days and Hollywood Studios for .5 days. You really liked the dumbo ride and were a super trooper as we went non stop.
In general I just love your exuberence for life! You are such a fun and incredibly excitable little boy. Everywhere we go people are amazed out how much joy you experience AND express for whatever you're doing. It's totally hilarious. A few weeks ago you went crazy over the fact that a big shopping cart at target was available for you and Emilie to sit in. It wasn't anything knew, but for some reason that day you seemed to be espeically excited about it. A perfect stranger saw the whole thing and came up to Mom and said how lucky she was to have such a fun little boy! This was not the first time someone had told this to Mom and it will undoubtedly not be the last.
While you're not quite potty trained yet you're getting there. Not too many accidents but we also can't get you to go poop in the toilet, only a pull up. Not to feat though, I know you'll get there...eventually.
One other funny thing, for a while there you were using the term "double"to describe anything that was large. If the pillow was big to you, it was a "double pillow". If it was a big swing, it was a "double swing". Soooo cute and funny to hear! I'll try and remember some other funny use of words, you have plenty of them. More to come.
